Contact Us Anytime!
We would love to hear from you! In the past some emails and contact requests have gotten past of us because we tried to use different contact systems that were not compatible. We think we have that all worked out now! Growing pains have taught us a few lessons about how to streamline things to make communication as simple as possible!
If you send us a message or call us, we will get it this time! We’ve also eliminated third party contact request forms for school programs! You can reach out to us below to schedule those and we will add it to our events calendar! Hope to hear from you soon!
Frequently Asked Questions
Are you taking on new abatement clients?
Our focus at this time, is online education. We are not currently expanding our abatement clientele. However, if you are looking for a referral, we can put you in contact with a reputable, licensed professional in the area.
What is a therapy owl?
We discovered by accident, that two of our barn owls are very special. They have gentle energies and have been very instrumental in healing those with PTSD. Sophie, has attended some group therapy meetings for law enforcement officers and Floki was a welcome addition to a group dealing with the loss of loved ones. While this isn’t a formal program, it is something we are looking to explore in the future!
Do your birds get to fly?
Most of our birds get to fly the beautiful McDowell Sonoran Desert Preserve, which is our main place to take them. It is 30,000 acres of desert landscape open falconry and archery only. We do have a few birds that are mated pairs, such as our Harris’ hawks Morpheus and Morgana. Most of the time we won’t risk the lives of one of the mates. Our birds can be killed by wild birds while flying the Preserve.
What is Falconry?
We get asked this question a lot. We’ve also had some very interesting questions of late in reference to the health and well-being of our birds. Some people have asked why they don’t just fly away. Well, the short answer is, they could. If you ask 5 falconers you’d likely get 5 variations to this question. However, in our opinion if we’ve bonded with our birds they won’t want to leave. And they don’t. However, falconry is a hunting sport where the birds are taken out on the land so they can hunt for their food.
Can we visit the birds?
Not at this time. Especially in the age of Covid-19. We are always extremely protective of the birds. However, now we have to be protective of ourselves and you as well. After the Covid-19 crisis is over, we will have excursions with sponsors!
